I have found that all the big box stores really sink at answering calls and giving you good answers. I have learned that if I call (which I don't do much any more), and they say they don't have something in stock then most likely they do and if they say the do, they most likely don't. Don't waste your time calling stores to find out if they have something in stock but if you have to because they are miles away, then ask them to get the item, put your name on it and tell them you will be there is 5 minutes (even it is a hour drive). If they refuse, then I guess you have to take your chances and drive there.

Love this website....great idea SD!

Steve,
I have a crap story for you. It all started about 3yrs ago in a Conn's(http://www.conns.com)here in Houston Texas, it's similar to BestBuy. My Wife and I had decided we needed a new washer and Dryer since the washer she had purchased more that 15 years ago died of old age and rust from water leaking from the tub. We were at Conn's and Decided on a Maytag Neptune washer and Dryer since my wife had an older broken washer for 15 years that was also a Maytag. If we get 15 years of use out of the new washer it will be well worth it. I ask my con Conn's salesman which of these is the best and he suggested this Maytag Neptune(FAV68000aw). I ask my wife and she loved the washer it had no center agitator and the controls were all electronic buttons. I ask the con man to wrap it up and I'll take the set. We'll 6 weeks later the main control board went out. No problem call and warranty will take care of it. Maytag did come and repair. The next week the washer would not spin. Call Maytag warranty they came out and fixed it. Then the next month the washer would not spin again. Call Maytag this time I asked if It could just be replaced since Maytag has been out here three times. less than a year. To my horror they told me that Maytag had been bought by Whirlpool and that they could not replace my unit. They could only honor the warranty. A Year past and now were into our third year with the washer and the warranty is gone. Guess what happened it stopped spinning again this time. I call Maytag and they say that they can send a repair man out to estimate the repair at a cost of $114.00. I said never mind I pretty handy and started looking online for tips. I found out that their was a class action law suit that happen over the model of washer I had and I was never contacted. I found out that their were hundreds of people having the same problem I was having. The service manual and parts were readily available to repair this washer except the part that was actually going out. What was happening was the tub leaked water onto two ball bearing assemblies that cause them to seize up and rust. In order to fix the washer you needed to purchase the whole tube which was $410.00 + labor the washer was only $580.00. I found online that someone had fixed the washer by replacing the ball bearings. The ball bearings were standard bearings except that they were pressed into the tub by some sort of hydraulic press. Then I found a tool called the tony tool that was design for removing and installing these bearings by some guy that works on washer. But just to recap the washer my wife had at first out lasted the new washer by a long shot then I spent about another $100 trying to repair the new washer. I ended up going to BestBuy and just purchasing a $200 economical wash and it has been working ever since. The more expensive stuff does not always mean better. So some cheap crap is better to have than to have expensive crap. Keep crapping on my little $200 washer.
